Guitars/basses can cost upwards of 10k (and im sure higher for the extremes) from a custom builder (reference - Carl Thompson). The reason this is worth so much is because no other gibson will sound like it unless it is infact from the similar era. Similarly, people always want what they can't have and what is rare. This guitar is quite rare, and quite old... I think it doesn't need to be said but... "I'm sure its nice and broken in"... laughing-out-loud ive seen some paul reed smiths go for 16 or 17k brand new and ive also seen some 59 to early and mid 60's les pauls go for over 100k and playing those old guitars like that doesnt really hurt the resale to bad at all, but some of the early gibson electrics are very hard to trace the exact age because gibson messed up their serial numbering system, professional guitar collecters can tell how old they are by inlays and certain markings on the guitars themselves, but anyways bump on a nice ol' gibson!!
