KStang3.8
So i've read threads before about where to go. Once i figure out what overall i'm gonna do appearance-wise to my car i'm gonna give Dyno Brian a call. But i really don't know anything about window tinting. I'm familiar with Ohio's Laws on tinting, but i don't have an idea what tint would look best on my car and if i'm supposed to get different %'s on different windows or what. so here's my questions and pics of my car: 1. Should i tint the windshield? or do i just tint everything else? 2. How much should i tint it? like what % or whatever? i don't want to be getting pulled over for this EVER, but i don't want to waste money on some pussy tint either. 3. What type of price am i looking at? I don't need an exact quote or anything, just give me a 100$ range or something like "100-200" or something http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/frontside.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/mustangback.jpg
jeffro
So i've read threads before about where to go. Should i tint the windshield? or do i just tint everything else? NO, Do not tint the windscreen. only Beaners tint their windscreens. tint everything but the windscreen. there are laws that prohibit the entire windscreen from being tinted. you may only come down 6 inches from the top of the glass, and it looks retarded as fuck. 2. How much should i tint it? like what % or whatever? i don't want to be getting pulled over for this EVER, but i don't want to waste money on some pussy tint either. i had 20 on the rear windows, and 25% on the front. wasn't dark enough and i never once got heckled for it. see below 3. What type of price am i looking at? I don't need an exact quote or anything, just give me a 100$ range or something like "100-200" or something 100-200 is pretty broad. buckeye glass in marion did mine for 130 plus tax. they did a fantastic job. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_zt1IrYTCrOo/S9iHhnWCX6I/AAAAAAAAAdw/qItgvcEJC68/s912/DSC_0013.JPG
KStang3.8
awesome that sounds like a good price to me. will have to compare prices. so 20% on the rear and 25% on the front. so that means 20% visible right? or 80% visible? you said you don't think its dark enough, so how dark would you have done it? how dark can i go and still not get harassed by the POlice? jeffro
pretty sure it means its lets 20% light in(blocking 80% if i could have done it again, i would have went 5% on the back(there is no law on the rear windows) and 15% on the fronts. its hit or miss as to getting harassed. depends on where you live, and who polices around you. SRTurbo04
50% is the max u can get on the fronts legally... some people get harassed some don't I've got 5 an 15 and its darkkk ...I've gottten a few warnings. if ur worried about gettin pulled over then get 35% on the backs an 50 on the front and not worry about it. If u go much darker then u will be paranoid at times around cops at night
KStang3.8
Thanks for the advice both of you. Pictures of yours paul?
Cordell
Pauls looks good, but IMHO is too dark for a daily. My S10 was 20% on the sides and 5% on the back and visibility at night was horrible. I like to see more in my mirrors then just dim headlights, but thats just me. My wife's Impala has 35% on the sides and is a nice compromise between good looks and visibility IMO. Take that with a grain of salt.
KStang3.8
I do tend to do a shitload of night driving. I work 9-6 in the summer, so depending on how late in the season it is i'll walk out after work and it'll be dark. Not to mention i go somewhere almost every night after work, whether a friends house or easton or whatever, TONS of night driving lol. Thanks for your two cents. Richard Cranium
I had Brian's guy do all three of my cars. I just went with his recommendation, not even sure what mine are. The front windows are not as dark as the back. I get lots of compliments and seems dark enough. +1 on don't tint the windscreen, dumb idea. 2 Sweet
1. No tint on the windshield 2. Anything lighter than 35% is a waste of money IMO 3. Price will be around $150-180 depending on where you go On my GTP and my first S10 I had 20% on all the sides and 5% on the back. It looked pretty sweet... http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/Car%20pics/GTP006.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/Car%20pics/GTP007.jpg My second S10 was 5% all around, I loved it... http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/Car%20pics/Oct12th021.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/Car%20pics/Nov9th001.jpg I never had any issues seeing at night unless I was backing up, but I just got into the habit of putting my window down and looking out. If you're worried about getting pulled over, stick with 35%. If you don't give a shit, go darker. FWIW, I have never once been pulled over for window tint. Although I'm willing to bet I just jinxed myself

Guest tbutera2112
i had 20 all around and it wasnt dark enough....ide do 5 all around and call it a day, and me personally, i would do 50 over the windshield...would block glare and shit during the day, and not be dark enough to really affect you at night you may have trouble finding someone to lay windshield tint though, if you decide to do it and wanna know who does it, shoot me a PM
Mr. Jones
I run 35% all around. Never been bothered to date. (knock on wood).

Grey03
I have the "legal" 50% on my fronts and 15% on the rear. http://i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx270/White2010Shelby/DSCF5222.jpg http://i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx270/White2010Shelby/DSCF5221.jpg
oh_f@ck_its_him
I have 15% all around and have received two warnings and a $130 tint ticket in the past two months. I've had my windows tinted for over a year prior to getting harassed. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g156/Sobas_187/WRX/DSC03431.jpg
Nickey4271647545519
dual layers of 5% all the way around including the windshield.... but seriously, i run 15% on my doors, and on the extended cab and rear i run 5% and i've never really had any issues, other than backing out in super low light areas. truckin
pretty sure it means its lets 20% light in(blocking 80% if i could have done it again, i would have went 5% on the back(there is no law on the rear windows). Really? I always thought Passenger cars couldn't have the back window as dark as they wanted? Just thought trucks and vans were the only ones. Ramsey
just do 50 on the front and 25 on the rear stuff. That way we dont have to read a thread about you crying about your tint ticket.
GSXRAntwon
I'd put 50% on the fronts and 15% on the rears if I were you so we don't hear you bitching later
CRed05
15 all the way around except windshield of course
thorne
http://www.40roll.com/ats/tintedob.jpg 33/18/18 I think but I can't recall. It's dark and sorta dark. I have never been heckled in any of my tinted cars. I've had window tint since my first car.
