Tractor
Interesting. Is this something custom or a new version of a hummer?
Nitrousbird
Interesting. Is this something custom or a new version of a hummer? I am also curious, and whether there is a civilian version.

Putty
I am not sure if there still or not. I wonder what the inside looks like. I was going to hop on the bed, but I figured the truck driver was sleeping in the cab of that rig.
jeffro
i find this interesting beyond the fact that its a neat apc thing. earlier today, i also saw about a half dozen humvees running down 23 in a convoy. i hate it when i see national guard moving around, especially when its just more than a few vehicles. Draco-REX
Wow, those make the HMMMV look effeminate. Edit: They look like they use a Hydraulic drive system like heavy equipment..

cinergi
I saw it earlier at the Morse Rd Walmart, and at a glance I thought it was the AMZ as well. Wish I could have grabbed a closer look.

Diamonds
Looks like an AMZ TUR, used for the same duties as a hmmwv ("humvee") http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMZ_Tur looks kinda close... but there are too many aesthetical differences (Even on parts that are probably not "optional".. like the hood lines and openings. etc)

Scotty2Hotty
It's the MRAP MATV, or the "All-Terrain" version of the MRAP. We have them, but they're too damn big to fit into places most the time. Visibility is shit out of them though, but it'll save your ass from most anything besides a recoiless rifle. They actually have an open dump basically, so no real muffler. Kinda loud, so you won't be sneakin up on anyone.
Scotty2Hotty
BTW, never seen a TOW missile system on one. But it's a great platform for the M2 .50 and MK19 thanks to its height. It was suppsed to be a "secret" vehicle, but it's really not. Inside is nice, thanks to the racing style buckets and 5 point harnesses. And the glass you see is the strongest part of the vehicle. Trust me.

cinergi
God I'm dumb, that was actually my first reply but google showed the AMZ things that looked similar so I edited. We just got a new team at work (DSCC) called the MRAP team that deals with those, but I've never seen one. Anyways, good stuff. I guessed the same thing. Shows how much attentioned I paid to it. Scotty2Hotty
There's a few more MRAP's, the MATV is the newest for Afghanistan thanks to the terrain. Cougar MRAP http://images.military.com/EQGpics/cougar_h_1.jpg Maxx Pro http://www.military-today.com/apc/maxxpro_mrap.jpg This among a few other vehicles like the Buffalo, RG-31, RG-33, along with a few other SOCOM and medical configurations. Nate1647545505
I've hear it both ways, the MRAP is a big improvement because of the design....and...the MRAP is horrible idea because of the size. The top hatches and space are nice on them but the rear hatch is kinda..well...unforgiving.

Nate1647545505
yeah... you are right... i will probably refrain from buying one now.....roll-eyes/ It goes both ways -- zing along routes with gun trucks or get stuck on main routes with MRAPs... I've been told many times to mind the Resistant -- not proof.
