AWW$HEEET
Just wondering what the easiest way to obtain 1000hp in terms of $ and engine is. To eliminate confusion, im just talking crank power, not whp. So what is it? LSX FI, LQ9 FI, 2JZ, Honda, BMW, 5.4 Ford FI, 4g63 FI etc? This is just out of curiosity honestly. Im assuming it costs 10s of thousands of dollars.
Guest tbutera2112
junkyard motor = $100 nitrous kit = $600 glory pass = priceless
CRed05
Definitely Honda. H22 swap in a 3-series with M3 badges. Puts down 1000whp 90% of the time every time.
SpaceGhost
Well DK said he had 5K into his 700+hp 4g63. Not sure what it would take to get 250 more HP maybe an even BIGGER snail?
AWW$HEEET
OK. Let me rephrase, relatively reliable. Not a fucking glory pass mobile like tylers mustang or any shit like that. Im talking something that you wont need to rebuild for a bit.
SpaceGhost
I don't think JP's (DK) colt was a glory pass, I think he drove that car a lot.
thorne
2jz. 1000hp is a very hard number. as someone whos aiming for the 500chp club i can empathize with that it takes to achieve impressive numbers.
AWW$HEEET
I don't think JP's (DK) colt was a glory pass, I think he drove that car a lot. Not saying his was a glory pass machine, but I knew I would get some responses like "junk yard motor + nitrous". Granted I know you can acheive some sick numbers, albeit seriously unreliable. Im talking about something that is purpose built to sustainably put down some big numbers.

Guest tbutera2112
^blocks are cheap, but rotating assemblies to hold 1000hp are NOT
coltboostin
I don't think JP's (DK) colt was a glory pass, I think he drove that car a lot. I drove the car every damn day. Also remember, the only reason it was 710 and not more is I was limited to the fuel flow of 1000cc injectors. THAT same set up with 1600cc injectors, and C16, VP Import..ect would be good to 900whp, so that MAY work out for CHP? Now to the OP- are we talking in a car running, or sitting on an engine stand?
