Can't remember if the stripper clip guide is still there, but the rail replaces the fiberglass hand guard and attaches to the anchor point beside the action as Scott pointed out. jjjxlr8 Posted June 28, 2010 Report Share Posted June 28, 2010 I decided to use the ARMS #18 mount on mine just so I could still use the iron sights. With the ARMS #22 lever rings removed, the top of the mount sits just below the iron sights - very low! The ARMS #18 attaches in the side mount hole and fits into the dove tail groove with the stripper clip guide removed. It also makes contact with top of the receiver at the front of the mount for stability. I liked the ARMS mounts to a point, but even with locktite, it seemed to get a little loose. Granted, the conditions mine operated in, were a bit extreme. I would love to check that Troy rail out Nate. Our shooters prefered .300 Win Mag in their bolt guns, so we had a healthy supply of M118LR. Lord knows, she chewed that stuff up.
