Tree Sap...how bad is it?

So I washed the truck earlier in the week and today I notice that my silver maple tree is 'sapping' all over my truck. The sap itself doesn't seem too bad to get off (unlike pine sap). Usually comes right up with water.

My question is....how bad is it for the paint to leave sap on there until the next time I wash it?

id suggest washing it sooner than later at least, and maybe not parking wherever that is anymore till its done. it can harm the paint especially with the blazing sun on it too...burn it right on there so to speak

I had some sappy spots on the Mustang that I let go too long and it kind of "burned on" and left permanent spots. Some hardcore buffing might have taken them out, but nothing short of that. I'd try to keep it off the paint or park elsewhere. I thought trucks are supposed to be ugly anyway.

This talk of maple sap makes me hungry for pancakes... delicious pancakes...
