Berto
So I washed the truck earlier in the week and today I notice that my silver maple tree is 'sapping' all over my truck. The sap itself doesn't seem too bad to get off (unlike pine sap). Usually comes right up with water. My question is....how bad is it for the paint to leave sap on there until the next time I wash it? Tripleskate
Depending on the kind of sap, it could leave some sort of etching or mark. I'd just keep some quick detailer handy.
iwashmycar
id suggest washing it sooner than later at least, and maybe not parking wherever that is anymore till its done. it can harm the paint especially with the blazing sun on it too...burn it right on there so to speak
twistedfocus1647545489
I had some sappy spots on the Mustang that I let go too long and it kind of "burned on" and left permanent spots. Some hardcore buffing might have taken them out, but nothing short of that. I'd try to keep it off the paint or park elsewhere. I thought trucks are supposed to be ugly anyway. This talk of maple sap makes me hungry for pancakes... delicious pancakes...

Jelloman4571647545499
Berto get it off before it etches the clear. Quick hit with thinner or 3m adhesive remover always works then hand polish the area. Also make a neutralizer that gets it off once soaked for a few seconds. Thinner is the quickest.
