how to use computer webcam and copy to computer?

ive got windows 7, HP g60, and all the stuff that comes on the computer from the store. webcam is built into the upper part of the screen/frame

 

long story short, one of our cats keeps pissing on the floor of the laundry room, 3' from their boxes. since theres more than one cat, i need to figure out which one it is before i either a) take him to the vet or b) shoot him. once in a blue moon i can almost understand, but 2 nights in a row recently, when i was in cleveland a couple weekends ago, other random nights, etc, is getting to be too much

 

so i need to figure out how i can leave my computer in the laundry room and record from the time i go to bed to the time i wake up (when it usually happens) so if/when it happens again, i can figure out which one it is.

perfect. even has motion detection with sensitivity, so i can leave it in my laundry room and it'll capture only when they go in and figure out which cat it is
