isnt that something you wanna account for before the build? not being condescending, I really don't know.

maybe.. its a good question to pose.. I'm learning as i'm going along since carbs, autos, and big v8's arent my normal strong point. I was going to get the hypers with the other parts from a trade and when cylinder heads cost 2k I gotta draw the line somewhere..we'll see how it.. the motor wont be getting put together until wintertime so that gives me some time to decide,.

Why spend on afr's just grab a set of gt40 x's. I paid 900 for mine with mls gaskets and head studs on sale.

cause i wont make mid 400's with heads that small.. its gonna take like an afr 205 or something comparable

good job. hyper pistons are safe to 300 hp shot or more. but and big but you have to be one hell of a nos tunner.

now they will hold 150. if you pull at least 8 deg timing and colder on the plugs. wich is what im doing to the blazer motor right now.

10s on just a 351 and hypers are they 13:1?

  • 3 weeks later...

small update

picked up some 15x10 weld ripoffs, they had brand new 295-50-15 indy 500 tires on them... while I dont plan on running them, it gave me some ideas for what would fit

picked up some used bbk 351 swap headers. meant for foxbodies, but supposedly fit the fc swaps just fine with no mods.

lastly the guts of the motor... i'm sticking with the hyper pistons. i dont need spray and its not getting turboed, so hypers will do
