Crossle
Damn, thats pretty serious if it was real. How much damage did it do to the home "detonating" it?
Igor
Damn, thats pretty serious if it was real. How much damage did it do to the home "detonating" it? Aren't they usually detonated in a "cage" of sorts?
Bobby Lee
I think the author of the article miss-spoke with the word "detonated." Chances are they shot it with an "explosive" tool similar to this: http://www.446aw.afrc.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/web/060404-F-7318G-003.jpg ... that is designed to harmlessly open the device up. Sounds like a shotgun (in fact it uses a blank shotgun shell and a jet of water), but reporters are idiots and want to wow their readers. Mattsv8
id say it was the previous home owners pissed about getting forclosed on. maybe if they paid their morgatage.
KillJoy
id say it was the previous home owners pissed about getting forclosed on. maybe if they paid their morgatage. The Homeowner was fighting in Iraq. When he came home, his wife (and child) had cleaned out the house, and had Divorce Papers sitting on the Kitchen Counter. She did not even leave toilet paper! Needless to say, he lost the house ~ 2 years ago. It has sat empty ever since. The winter after he move out, the pipes froze, and burst. Thos whole house flooded. The water ran for 2 days due to the main shut off tube being filled with rocks. KillJoy

We have many ways to disarm a device, depends on the device and the surrounding circumstances and the safety of those within in the blast zone. We do have a "bomb Tank" to place an explosive in and blow it up. Like i said many different ways to disposive of an item. But thats up to our Bombers to figure out. Main3s
"Investigators said the device was a hoax and did not contain any explosives." "They said it was possible that someone may have set the device up so they could detonate it from a remote location." so it was fake...
