ross
Ron burgundy has an xd40. I've never shot it but maybe he will chime in and let you know what he thinks about it.
yotaman88210
My brother has one. Very nice pistol. He has the 4in 9mm. I like it
Tomcat0403
My brother has two actually, both .40, one in the 4" and then the subcompact. I have shot both and I am definitely getting one here in a few months. I would recommend getting the new M model. They feel comfortable, handle very well, and come with many accessories out of the box. I think two mags, speed loader, hostler, and case. f4isvt
I had and I guess technically still do have a xd9 4inch and I absolutly loved it. Fairly accurate for a nine feels good in the hand and holds 17 rounds
R1Limited
XD 40 Sub compact. The thing is tight, better groups than my glock17 (even with the 3 inch barrel). The extra mag w/ the extension is awesome too- great design. You can't go wrong at $419 (Vances/Buckeye outdoors)

speedytriple
Might be picking one of these up in 9mm for the wife. She looked at a local gun shop and this is the "one" she picked. Been looking for the best prices on one. Local shop is $499. is the best price I found. If I drive down to north Canton they have a dark earth and blue for $479. I will look at the show here in Berea sunday to see if I find a better deal.
vroddave
my brother has an xd.45 and that thing shoots as easy as a nine. very nice gun. i just think that the 4" barrel is a lil bit to big to carry also along with the weight
speedytriple
Looking more for a range gun for my wife and myself to use. I have a pt145 I plan to carry as soon as I get my class done.
MadMax33
I shot one of the 9mm subs at the range and I had one FTF and my grouping was off towards the upper left of the target. It did feel good in my hand but maybe it was abused, being a range gun. I'd like to try another one, perhaps the 4inch model but I'm a Glock man. The XD's seem bulkier to me. Dweezel
http://arsenal.mojo4m.com/1852/http://www.hs-arms.com/europe/files/tests/frame_engl.htmThats my favorite, go to the left, upper hand and click on the 2 bullets test.I've got the .45 ACP Compact/service model that I carry, short grip and 4" barrel, still holds 10 rounds of Hydra-shock, plus one in the hole. It also comes with a second clip and grip extension that holds 13 +1. Just google a few reviews, the only people who have anything bad to say about it are the 'G'Lock forums, but their kinda like the Ferrarri owners of the hand gun world Another good one you might like to read.http://www.gunblast.com/Springfield-XD45.htm Edited March 22, 2009 by Dweezel
R1_MP
I had the XD40 Sub-Compact. I liked the feel and the weight distribution but it wasn't very accurate at distance.

speedytriple
Well we looked at everything they had at the gun show today. The wife is still set on the xd9 4 inch service model. I am set on the sig arms mosquito in blue with the threaded barrel, as my target gun. Figure the .22 is way cheap to shoot, and it is a full framed gun. As soon as the tax man refunds me next week we will be buying both of these.
