Been changing my own tires 4 a couple years now and never use any weights. never felt a shim or had trouble with handling. street and track, many many tires. Thanks 4 your insight/knowledge!!It's the wheels more than the tires nowadays. IMO ... balance them change the tires and balance again, you'll see !! I do the same thing bra, have for years, if i get bored , I'll manualy ballance them, but the tires aren't making as much difference anymore ?? ! You running down at jennings this weekend, if so, you missed your ride fucker !!! Bwahahaha
dustinsn3485
I've found with a good straight wheel and the balance dot on the tire properly positioned the tire will balance with no weights quite often. If it's out of balance, however, I think it should be balanced. It will effect tire life, cause vibrations, etc. I certainly think it's important. To have a properly balanced wheel.

cbr600f3
heres a great alternative to balancing your tires. ive used them for a few years now with no problems plus you dont need a balance machine and is good for track bikes, show wheels etc.. http://www.innovativebalancing.com/motorcycle.htm

warmonger
Alright ill start balancing them!!!! are the beads a good solution!!!I change pretty many tires. Are they really good 4 track use?? thanks
yotaman88210
I wouldnt trust the beads for track use. Ive never tries them tho.
cbr600f3
youve never tried them so why say you wouldn't use them? anyways yes they are great for track use or custom applications. sure makes it easier to do it yourself at home.... anyways like them or not, doesn't bother me any
yotaman88210
youve never tried them so why say you wouldn't use them? Because the method of lead and sticky shit works just fine. If I tried them and they didnt work, id have to take the wheel off again, break the bead, get the fookers out, then re balance. Im not saying they dont work, im not saying they do work. I will say I do not know if they work. I will also say I do not know if they dont work.

4DAIVI PAI2K5
Tire balancing is not important. Neither is air pressure. It's all bullshit. And I shove rolls of pennies up my ass and then I spend them. It feels pretty good to know that most of you probably have some of my ass pennies in your pockets right now. Sort of like a '1 up.' haha that about made me cry from laughing so hard.
warmonger
I guess it does matter, never had a prob though.. I think its probably because im just not going fast enough yet for it to matter..
cbr600f3
the beads would be easier then tapeing your wieghts on your rims etc and would be nice for chrome rims too.. just thought id share what i found that worked.... oh well, ill keep my ideas to myself
AOW
I met with the same resistance when I brought up the beads. I use 'em and like the clean look of my rims w/o those ugly weights.http://www.ohio-riders.net/showthread.php?t=21148
cbr600f3
yeah Ive used them with great results and figured in many ways it would be much better then lead weights, but i guess after being a mechanic for the past 6 years, i dont know what im talking about.
