jeffro
its hard to say. the models show very little precip up this way,but the radar shows it seems to be moving in on us. id say 0-1.5" are possible. just enough to fuck the roads up tomorrow evening. jeffro
alrighty, heres what ive come up with regarding the december 21 and december 24/25 storms. December 21 I dont think this storm will produce much more over an inch or so. as it comes across the midwest it dies before the low heads out to sea. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_zt1IrYTCrOo/TQ7yVHKXkYI/AAAAAAAABNU/uPdlYDuyxIM/s800/12-21-1.gif.jpg http://lh4.ggpht.com/_zt1IrYTCrOo/TQ7yV4cuJcI/AAAAAAAABNY/AcjwgAgoodQ/s800/12-21-2.gif.jpg December 24/25 This one will be one to watch. Earlier models were giving KCMH (port columbus) like .9 QFP which would equate to 9+ inches at 32*, but the models are slowly trending south, so at this point in time i think a 2-4" event for christmas eve is doable. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_zt1IrYTCrOo/TQ7yUvmpJSI/AAAAAAAABNQ/J8LezPkMa8Y/s800/12-24-1.gif.jpg http://lh5.ggpht.com/_zt1IrYTCrOo/TQ7yWsL4wrI/AAAAAAAABNc/TVcRt5Q1Nxo/s800/12-24-2.gif.jpg http://lh3.ggpht.com/_zt1IrYTCrOo/TQ7yXcf_eJI/AAAAAAAABNg/eabrpquF9J4/s800/12-24-3.gif.jpg Total Accumulation: keep in mind this is in inches of liquid precip. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_zt1IrYTCrOo/TQ7yZOUAebI/AAAAAAAABNk/bpZyqyOgawg/s640/12-24-4.gif.jpg just throwing this out there. take it with a grain of salt. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_zt1IrYTCrOo/TQ7z6_OBzqI/AAAAAAAABNo/mwBjMtcLrnE/s800/1-1.gif.jpg

jeffro
this thing took a v-line for the golf about 3 days ago. ill give my latest synopsis here when the 12Z run is finished. it just started. should take about 40 minutes. Also, its looking like the next system is going to be around the 2nd of january. this has been on the models for several days now, and is snowing an extreme amount of moisture. but i have a feeling with the amount of southerly flow from that one its going to overpower the cold air and begin the january thaw with buckets of rain. get it while its hot. this is the liquid precip for the 29-4th. This image is subject to change. i wish i could update the original post to add some images that change on thier own, and would be good for references. http://raleighwx.americanwx.com/models/gfs/06zgfsday6-10240.gif
