LJ
Apparently contract negotiations went something like this... "Hi Brady, this is Dav..." "YES, I'LL TAKE IT!!!" http://www.freep.com/article/20110111/SPORTS06/110111054/1318/Brady-Hoke-named-Michigan-football-coach

Dr. Pomade
Nope, Les said earlier today he was staying with LSU. Apparently, after Miles turned down the offer, Michigan went with Hoke. Or at least that is how it seems, based on the chronology of events.
AWW$HEEET
I feel like Les Miles looks exactly like Rich Rodriguez too.
dover
I'd heard the rumors about Les, that's to bad for Michigan (good for us)

Or at least that is how it seems, based on the chronology of events. Les realized he could not do the following have the success he is currently having at Michigan because - They have academic standards at ScUM, they don't offer more scholarships then they can commit to, there is a better talent pool by LSU, and they are not sec criminals (Essentially I have concluded the SEC is a free farm league for the NFL. )

SpaceGhost
Fixed. Was my statement untrue? No. I was just referring to the last time he was coaching at Michigan.
Sully
Was my statement untrue? No. I was just referring to the last time he was coaching at Michigan. Right. I just updated it to reflect that he was their d-line coach for 8 years, not just in 2002.

bicranium
Also has a little Mike Golic to him. I think he's a very good coach and could do well at Michigan. We'll see. Not nearly as obvious a failure as Rich Rod appeared right from the start.
DaddyBuiltRacing
sec has better players, not better teams...... Yeah because no one from the south plays in the big 10, and no one from the big 10 goes pro, weak argument Phil, I expected better out of you lol. If you follow recruiting you should watch and see what happens when a kid from the south commits to a b10 school, he goes down a star ranking, becomes over rated and loses about 3-5 tenths off his 40 time lol. SpaceGhost
He does have quite a huge task ahead of him. So is Denard transferring to the SEC?
DaddyBuiltRacing
If I were Denard I would stay at Michigan, he's about to be a JR, if he transfers he'll only have 1 year left to play. Same thing with poor ole Tater Tot. It'll be interesting to see how this all works out, just hope that in 3 years they aren't firing Hoke and looking for the next hot name coach, I would actually like to see Michigan get competitive again
bicranium
Believe Tate will not be returning. Read that he's not enrolled for winter classes and is no longer in the student directory. But this was all decided before Hoke was hired hence his ineligibility for their bowl game.
SpaceGhost
Does Michigan play Appalachian State again? LOL
bicranium
Their OOC schedule is 2 directional Michigan schools, ND (first ever night game in The Big House) and... San Diego State. I'd lol hard if they lost to the school Hoke just left.
