Thoughts on the Governor

The ability to shoot .45ACP with moonclips is a welcomed bonus. Granted the pistol is also a 6 shot wheel gun. Wouldn't suprise me that S&W will get sales from it, but I'd expect atleast another $300+ more than the Judge. Atleast the S&W shouldn't blow up in your hand. Taurus brought out some 28 gauge version of the Judge aswell I guess. I assume 12 gauge is next?

A: what are moonclips?

B: Would this be anything more than home defense ? What range would those 420's become worthless?

The Judge has been around for more than 15 years that I know of and it's never been more than a novelty gun. I've shot one before and it's really no big deal. It might not be bad home defense with the Winchester PDX1 .410's, but I would never recommend one.

They are DAMN fun with high-number birdshot or dust shells...stand back 25 feet and turn a 12in Shoot-N-See into solid green.

There is a carbine version that may be more useful.

The version I shot years ago was the Thunder 5. I had more fun shooting .45LC's than I did .410 bird shot. I remember having to aim the gun damn near off the target to hit close to center at 25ft.

The Circuit Judge is the carbine version...
