BBQdDude
Lots of phones (all smartphones with wifi radios?) have the ability to wifi tether via applicable software(or USB, or BTPAN), whether or not that is unlocked or not is usually up to the agreement between the service provider and the manufacturer. In almost all cases you are not expressly permitted to use that feature(or use after block circumvention), even with unlimited data plans, as most service providers outline that tethering falls outside of normal "unlimited data" usage. All providers can see if you are tethering or not. Whether they turn a blind eye to it (Sprint for now) is a whole other issue. On the Galzxy S T-Mobile stated it is allowed in the contract. I am looking at this in the beginning of July for purchase if so.

sol740
On the Galzxy S T-Mobile stated it is allowed in the contract. I am looking at this in the beginning of July for purchase if so. On this support page for the Galaxy S with T-Mobile it states one must have a tethering option on their plan to use the feature. Tethering and Wi-Fi Sharing (Samsung Galaxy S™ 4G) NOTE: To use tethering and Wi-Fi Sharing, you must have the Tethering and Wi-Fi Sharing feature added to your unlimited data plan. http://support.t-mobile.com/doc/tm55785.xml?related=y&Referring%20Related%20DocID%20List%20Index=5&navtypeid=6&pagetypeid=7&prevPageIndex=1 For the guys/girls using tether as their only source of internet STOP DOWNLOADING TORRENTS. TTQ B4U
This. Most providers won't care if you don't rape the network. ^^ all can figure is this as I've been tethering from a JB iPhone for a while now and never received anything. I don't plan on stopping, but then I really only use it for short bursts of connecting a PC to it now and then.
