mjrsplat
Hopefully it's a dead one. I tend to kill spiders that I see, next time I come across one I would definitely make a thread. Btw looks kind of like a wolf spider. Things are nasty. Edit for pic. http://www.wolfspiders.net/spider-images/wolf-spider-1.jpg

unfunnyryan
House centipede won't win against a spider. Put a mantis against it.
SpaceGhost
Everything I have read is they eat spiders and are quite effective at it.

TTQ B4U
I saw 3 in my basement last night. That picture represents a 1:1 size ratio of the ones I find in my basement. Also, if you put one of them in with a spider, they will devour that spider in a heartbeat. http://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?p=house+centipede+vs+wolf+spider
AWW$HEEET
Wolf spiders aren't poisonous I don't believe. One of my distant relatives got bit by a brown recluse, and she's missing half of her calf now.

Just depends whether they can harm humans or not.
ImUrOBGYN
That picture represents a 1:1 size ratio of the ones I find in my basement. p=house+centipede+vs+wolf+spider[/url] bwhahaha Someone mentioned size differences above and I was going to mention that the centipede would win since it takes up the whole f'n screen. Wolf spiders aren't poisonous I don't believe. One of my distant relatives got bit by a brown recluse, and she's missing half of her calf now. Technically all spiders are poisonous Thats how they kill prey. Just depends whether they can harm humans or not. Like he said, all of them are poisonous. Some are stronger than others and some people react differently than others. Almost all spiders will cause some kind of reaction.
SpaceGhost
My stupid Himilayian Siamese cat eats the centipedes when they venture into the house since they cleared the crawl space of prey. I haven't seen a spider in my house in years, and a centapieede only every now and then. The circle of life.
Orion
Sorry to grammar nazi up in here, but the term you are looking for is "venomous". Plants are poisonous, spiders are venomous. And for the record, fuck spiders.
BigOxley
i have those stupid centipedes in my house. if i see them in the basement, they're good. if they come up into the rest of the house, they get dead.

I've had it backwards all along. I've always killed the house centipedes and left the wolf spiders and whatnot to eat other pests. I guess it's time to embrace the scary as fuck house centipedes though. I tried to kill a HC sometime in the past week but I was rusty since I hadn't seen any for a while because of the winter and just got some of its legs. Gonna have to make a truce if I see that one again.
