Its mostly symptoms of a Narcissistic personality disorder (Narcissism is the personality trait of egotism, vanity, conceit, or simple selfishness. Applied to a social group, it is sometimes used to denote elitism)complicated with Borderline personality disorder (The disorder typically involves unusual levels black and white thinking, or splitting; the disorder often manifests itself in idealization and devaluation). And now with the bast ten years of war many are also returning reservists with levels of PTSD. You add all that up with the level of adrenalin and desire to show the other team member that they are the best man on the team it can push team members to actions that go against their training and better judgement. The Army and Marine Corp have learned the hard way that just because someone is physically capable of doing a job doesn't mean they should be in that position. In cases of extreme stress the 'lizard brain' takes over and you react to save you life (not a bad thing) or in some officer evolved shootings the officer becomes over confident in their skill and get sloppy with weapons discipline because of some level of Narcissistic behavior or because of the Borderline disorder wants to dominate the subject and escalates force beyond a level that the situation calls for.

You don't do SWAT or SF or any super HOOAA!! job unless you are a Alpha Male type to begin with. But sometimes Op tempo is just too high and officers/soldiers don't have time to recover and the stress and it mounts up and unfortunately people get hurt. Even if it is not the subject in the action it can cause an officers/soldiers to manifest in other ways. Drinking is one way domestic violence is another. When it became a law that a domestic offender could not posses a firearm Columbus SWAT had five officers placed on desk duty with no sidearm.

Someone like who?

What do you know about me?

You have proven your reasoning ability and your point of view quite honestly when you attacked the person and not the statement.

How about I gather some facts about the psych profile of SWAT officers and back them with case in point. Like Officer Paul Duncan of Framingham SWAT officer who on March 1st, 2011 accidentally fired his rifle and shot a 68 year old man in front of his family while he was laying on his face with his hand behind his back. It was his 8th kill of an unarmed person. Or maybe the fine officers of Las Vegas SWAT that shot and killed an unarmed 21 year old Trevon Cole to stop him from flushing his pot down the toilet. Seems that they had spent the day drinking before conducting the raid. And not as tragic but defiantly an example of abuse of power George Funti spent three days in jail for possessing a controlled substance that he didn't actually posses. Even though a detail report had identified the substance as residue from his heart pills that did not stop Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office from arresting the 65 year old in front of his grand children and leaving him in a cell for three days almost one month later because Deputy Stephen Reynolds assured the arresting deputies that it really was cocaine and not what the report said it was.

Want to keep this fight going?

1. Someone like you. An arrogant, if ignorant, noob.

2. I know that you don't have near the knowledge base that you claim to. You are posturing like an Iraqi dictator before his execution. It's almost embarrassing how much of a failure you are. You have disrespected the English language, stereotyped police officers, and mislabeled me as a democrat/liberal.

3. You cited three reports of officers seemingly abusing their posts. Congratulations, you have failed at suggesting anything of statistical significance.

4. You're more worthless that a SWAT officer who kills and armed, if innocent, man. You're an opinionated and arrogant moron. Your "knowledge" is negligible and useless. Your opinions are based off nothing more than outliers. You are a waste of space and I wish it were you that had been "wrongly" killed by this SWAT team.

In summary, you're a worthless incompetent moron, you've picked an argument with at least one subject matter expert, and you through your consistent failures you have shown that you do indeed have the intellect of a child.

Fucking hilarious. Quoted on the off chance that he edits his post after realizing who he's arguing with.

Who and I arguing with? A pair of net trolls ?

I'll let you find out for yourself. Honestly, I will bow out of this one - for a while - to let our resident King of Hair handle this.

Okay, so what you're saying is that it was a whole lot of fucking lead on the breakfast cereal. I think that much is apparent.

Listen, Captain Make-Shit-Up, stop talking out of your ass. You're like a drunk fucking hobo rambling at the corner liquor store. You took an online psychology class and now think you're Freud. Narcissitic Personality Disorder is a pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and a lack of empathy, whereas Borderline Personality Disorder is a pattern of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image, and emotions and marked instability. Those are the correct definitions, not the shit you came up with. Stop trying to act smart; you're not.

I wish some deranged SWAT team would shoot you and save us the misery of your delusional ramblings.

OH, I get it, a rent a cop and his bitch? Did I get it right?

YES, YOU GOT IT RIGHT, SWAT CONSPIRACY DELUSIONAL BOY! YOU'RE AS RIGHT HERE AS YOU HAVE BEEN THIS ENTIRE THREAD. I'M TYPING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE MY LIZARD BRAIN HAS PTSD AND IS EATING ADRENALINE WITH A SIDE OF BORDERLINE NARCISSISM.

I think you missed my point. Messing up is part of being human. If you expect perfection in the line of fire you watch too much tv.

Actually they do expect perfection.. I bet that guy is being ripped a new one.

I got your point but you might of missed mine. Be awesome or kill yourself. Well that's just like my opinion man :gabe:

Yep, exactly. I am a security guy for Easton, Tilley is my supervisor.

JOHN TIMKINS WAS A SECURITY GUARD THAT KILLED FOUR CO-WORKERS ON OCTOBER 3, 1979. IT WAS BECAUSE HE WAS BRAINWASHED BY VIETNAM AND RERUNS OF THREE'S COMPANY. BILLY JOHNSON USED TO LIKE HORSES UNTIL A MEMBER OF SWAT SLIPPED A ROOFIE IN HIS A&W ROOT BEER AND HE KILLED HIS WIFE IN COLD BLOOD. SHARON WILSON WAS A DISPATCHER THAT LIKED FRITZ THE NIGHT OWL AND HEROIN. IT WAS BECAUSE SHE WAS A COP. THESE ARE ALL FACTS THAT DOCTORS I KNOW SAID.

DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE THIS FIGHT?

I'm going to tell you a little story.

My cousin is in the Army. Similar to SWAT he works with special units that get their hands dirty often. He has several responsibilities, one of which involves tank operation and artillery on the front lines. The tank has nothing to do with this situation but I have always found it cool that he gets paid to blow up shit. Ok, back to the story... Fighting overseas is something he does by choice and has chosen to re-enlist on several occasions. None of this was to fulfill his need to be the alpha male. It was to protect other soldiers because he has the training and expertise to possibly make sure another soldier makes it home safe. A self proclaimed nerd, he can breach your house and take you out with his hands or shoot your face off from a couple hundred yards. This is in no way to show off, not to be top dog, its just to be in a position to help others if needed. I bring him up because he is basically SWAT. The only difference is he's kicking down foreign doors. If you go deeper into it you will find most do it to help others. Its selfless not selfish.

I'm not going to be ignorant and say none of them are as you explained. I'm also not going to say they are all great stand up people. What I will say is they are all individuals that are/were good enough to be considered elite. They risk their lives all the time to try and make a better place for us. It offends me when people like you look down their nose at the entire group. The guys that screwed up deserve the backlash, not everyone wearing the uniform.

Your post made me curious as to what you posted previously.... What gang members do you know that have a strong enough work ethic to go through and complete boot camp? I know people that have turned their life around THEN joined the military. The lazy bastards I knew/know spend their time playing video games, selling drugs, and standing around being super hardcore. Not running around the globe recruiting new members. I'm curious to know why you said this.

I know you probably haven't had a chance to respond yet but I am genuinely curious about the gang question.

I dont remember what show it was, maybe Gangland or something, but they were saying that very organized street gangs like MS-13 and the MM do send members into the military to learn about weapons and combat.

I think there is probably a ton of gang members that have joined the military in hopes of having a better life and many of them probably do. A lot of them are just gonna end up right back in the hood but now have military training and probably have seen combat.

Edit: Damn dude! Those m-fers are no joke! Nothing like the gangs I've seen.

I have one brother that is affiliated with MS-13 and is so deep that I dont even see him anymore when I go back to Charlotte to visit. Its just not worth the trouble anymore.

My other brother recently got out of Federal prison after 6 years. He was the only American indicted in a 14 person indictment in the biggest drug bust in N.C. history at the time 2002. Twelve of the others in the indictment were all MM and the last person was my brother girl who was from Venezuela. Since hes been out he has changed his life and dont fuck around at all with anything.

I know a little bit about these guys and how they operate and its fucking insane. Its best to just stay away.

Sorry, but there's a HUGE difference in SF and SWAT. They don't even belong in the same sentence by any means. They are NOT one in the same, plain and simple. In the Military, we train for the high levels of stress and fatigue. It always has been and will be the nature of the beast. Saying a SWAT team is under that same level is laughable at best. A crack house is far from Sadr City or Tora Bora. There's a reason SWAT teams are getting pointers from prior military training and various agencies dedicated to that type of training. That SWAT team won't be held accountable more than likely, for the judge will most likely side with law enforcement on this case. It's America, so the law is always right.
