AWW$HEEET
if i plug my server into that wireless bridge and its PoE is it going to fry my shit?
04silvrz
this bridge is not POE? Power over Ethernet is what you are talking about right? not sure i completely get what you are asking.... to generally answer your question if a switch is POE, you can connect a non POE device into it and it will not effect anything. AWW$HEEET
the google link you posted states it is PoE. yes, power over ethernet. if i plug it into the NIC of my server, will the POE current fry my machine?
04silvrz
shit, i take that back... it does say POE.... sorry dude. it receives the wireless signal and converts it into a cat 5 connection. I have one of these on a server at home, it doens't effect anything.

04silvrz
i have had several of these things never even realized they could do POE. regardless it defiantly doesn't effect your NIC. POE will only be recognized if the device allows for it, that's standard on all Linksys / Cisco devices.

It is designed to be optionally POWERED by a POE injector or suitable remote switch ect. This way you can run it to specific point needed to latch onto a signal without running a long power cord or needing an outlet. Cliffs: It will not fry your shizzle.
