Sittin' in the elementary school library going to whitehouse.com, like a boss.

Bwahahaha I remember when that was a porn site. I think first time I can remember using the internet was 7th grade, and we too did the whitehouse.com thing and AOL instant messenger was serious business

My first PC was a 1984 IBM PC Jr that my brother had with DUAL 360k floppy drives. Booted up to DOS 2.1 in 5 minutes. Ran Telex through the 12000 baud modem. Later I upgraded to a 14.4 jumping on Multi-line BBS's such as Heartland and Computrek.

Hmm if you count my first computer experience it was when I was 3 but I didn't remember. It was on a commodore 64 that ironically my grandfather gave me when I was much older. I can't believe a computer that old still works but it still runs great. It has its own room in my basement. I do remember when I was 5 years old and used a 300 baud modem to connect to a BBS and check the weather. Shit was epic. I even played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on that computer. It was just like the NES version that everyone played but it sucked 100 times harder. No joke.

I was rocking my Packard Bell with a Pentium 75mhz cpu, and a "HUGE" 1gb HDD and 16mb of EDO memory. I never thought i'd ever run out of hdd space. I also remember messing around and ripping a cd to mp3s and wonder why would anyone want to do this.?

Just pulled a machine identical to those specs out of someones basement. They wanted to know if it was worth anything.

:dumb:

Was cool though that it could be set up as a home phone and answering machine as well.

damn... I was using Telnet on the internet... in college... in 1993.

Hell.... I was using Telnet in 1991-1992.

We even played one of the earliest online games, X-trek, back in 1992 with people @ Purdue, CSU, and Berkley.

LOLS!!!! In 1996 Hilliard High School was selected to participate in Time Warner's Beta of "road runner". I was one of the selected students to participate. 300MB down / 300mb up. Those were the days! Before that... we were spiffing Credit Card Numbers via generators on AOL :D

First computer experience was commodore 64, Oregon trail was the coolest thing ever. I still remember waiting each week for a new atari 2600 game to come in the mail. I too remember thinking that the free aol disks you could get at the grocery store checkout lines was the coolest thing ever. The sad thing is I still go into customers homes from time to time that are running windows 98 and using the free aol disks.
