pontiacfreak142
The bonneville has developed this kind of annoying clunking/vibrating feeling through the steering column when i hit pretty much any kind of even small bump. ive looked into it a little bit, but everything i keep seeing says clunking/vibrating, but when turning the wheel. is it still possibly the shaft anyway? Comebackkid
Mine felt something like that. Come to find out the bolts that hold the imc to the block backed out. So i lock tighted it and no more noise.
Cordell
Intermediate shaft isn't as common on the Bonnevilles as it is on other body style GMs, but is very likely. If it sounds like a rattle thumping right in the column, pull it out and pack it with grease and see if it changes.
pontiacfreak142
Yea i knew it wasnt as common on these but from what ive read gm still has a bulliten out on it. Ive checked pretty much every other nut and bolt on the steering column and even the engine cradle but nothin was loose
