wagner
What are you guys using? Wife is trying to hit me for christmas/birthday ideas and one of these would be nice to have. I was looking at the Logitech G27 but that thing is $250, is it worth it? End goal will be to build my own racing seat set up around it. 944s2
No Logitech with the Xbox... unfortunately not easily at least. Damn Microsoft and their crappy wheels.
944s2
This is my setup. http://www.playseat.com/shop/media/catalog/product/cache/20/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/1/_/1_25.jpg For PS3 and PC. And yes it is very much worth it, I paid about $550 for everything, new from Amazon. Have hundreds of hours of seat time.

944s2
Next best option? Well shit I had not looked at Fantec wheels in a while, it seems they are compatible. http://www.fanatec.de/webshop/new_usa/index.php?cPath=21&osCsid=4186aa6abebeefe6603134d6ec08091c These are amazing wheels, easily on par with Logitech if not better. If you have never used one of these set ups and your in Dayton hit me up, I would be happy to let you test drive, only problem is you will want to take it home. 944s2
It's really not a "toy" at this point, I have had wheels before, mounted to coffee tables, desk etc, you will never be truly happy until you have a good chair to sit in and play. If you have a good PC though it's all worth it as there are some amazing sims out there, way better than GT5 and Forza. Maybe not graphics wise, but the stuff that counts, physics and track realism blow console games out of the water. GTR Evolution for example, and iRacing. http://www.gtr-evolution.com/ http://www.iracing.com/
paktinat
I have the official MS wheel that I'm not using if you are looking to buy. I know it's not the best thing in the world but when I bought it it was the only thing that worked properly with forza.
ForeverMaker
I have this one for PC: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EAORVS/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details?ie=UTF8&redirect=true ^that works for PC/PS3 but I think there is something similar for XBOX by ThrustMaster. They make solid products at decent prices. A couple thoughts on steering wheels: Having paddles and no stick/clutch is the better route in my opinion. I play games to have fun and having a stick just seems like a lot of work. Maybe I am getting old but I thought I would still crave a stick but I don't. /nohomo What you mount it to and the mounting hardware is critical. You need a solid setup. These things take abuse -- even if you are easy on it others won't be. The tendency is to really push/pull/stomp hard.
Draco-REX
At this moment, you have no good options for an XBox wheel w/ Force Feedback because MS killed the ONLY one made. However. Mad Catz has decided to pony up the extortionate amount MS demands for the license and they are making a (hopefully) good wheel that should be out by Xmas. http://www.madcatz.com/productinfo.asp?page=248&GSProd=5154&GSCat=98&CategoryImg=Xbox_360_Wheels Last I checked, Game Stop is taking pre-orders and are expecting it in the next couple weeks. Draco-REX
Oh, as for the seat, PlaySeats.com ftw. Best option for the money. They also have G27/DFGT bundles if you have a PS3 or PC. EDIT: They brought it to the US!! http://www.playseat.com/en/playseat-rbr-1-seat SO MUCH WANT! EDIT2: Watch the video of Vettel using the seat and count how many times he blinks. Wheel, no pedals $250 Pedals, no wheel $200 Wheel w/ pedals $300? Painted wheel, no pedals $

I had a g25 and paid right around $300 for it, was worth every penny. Sadly, no xbox with it, only ps3 and PC.

Doc1647545523
I just bought an Official Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel with Force Feedback, used, on eBay. It will be interesting to see how this performs. There was no way I was going to pay premium prices for Fanatec. http://www.ebay.com/itm/150703565849?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
frenchy chan
We only have a ps3...but when you find a wheel, you could build a set up like us: http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/76934_175268592499539_100000491986410_576529_1157948_n.jpg It's made out of pvc pipe...we uses a miata seat for our chair...the chair detaches and stays in the room for extra seating but the front half fits conveniently in a closet.
