Man I have not been on this forum for a while-- This is my 1992 Nissan 240sx S13 build thread. While the body has 134,xxx miles on it, the motor is a 1997

KA24de with about 90,xxx miles. I purchased the vehicle from its 2nd owner as a Salvage title, due to the rear drivers side quarter panel being backed into which

broke a tail light. The exhaust also needed replaced, and then still

needed to be inspected before I could title and plate it.

-Purchased a brand new Megan Racing stainless steel catback exhaust but lost the pics of the day i got it in the mail because my phone had to be reset :/

-Decided to remove the tint of the tail lights only to find that half of it wouldn't come off of the center piece, so I re painted that but left the tint off of the actual tail lights.

-Bought a Carbon Fiber hood, then decided I didn't like the hood (looked ricey on my stock 240 IMO) I'll wait until i get a swapped motor and a bodykit with paint job.

-In November 2010 the KA blew, meaning it would sit in the garage from Nov. 2010 - Apr. 2011 where it would get a KA24de from a 1997 S14 240sx and a set of 18" XXR 962's (one bent rim). I acquired some random aftermarket sideskirts and 2pc. rear bumper painted in primer black. Still have never put the kit on the car.

-The estimate for the back rear body work was everywhere from $600-$1,000. My friend's dad did it for $300 which included paint.. Looks amazing now!

They day i get the car back from him I rearend a woman who cant drive in the rain and merge onto a roundabout. Pulls out then slams on her brakes half way in. This is the ensuing damage.

-Then I got a flat tire.. only to find out that my spare tire was worse. Because the front end is lowered on a donut, and the rear isnt lowered at all this is the beautiful wheel gap. I cannot wait to fix this.

-Just replaced the battery in December.

-Jan. 28 I bought 4 new Hankook Ventus V4 Concept tires with 215/35R18s in the front and 225/40R18s in the rear. Need an alignment still because apparently 2 of the tie rods are going bad and need to be replaced: the passenger's side outer tie rod end and the driver's side inner tie rod boot. The parts cost $35-- to have them do it it is $250-- o_O

Im new to wrenching on cars so my girlfriend's brother-in-law is teaching me how to change tie rods, then doing the Lowering Rear Springs and Struts.

I just bought a set of headlights, only using passenger side if someone needs a driver's side complete assembly. Am also buying a replacement fender. All I will need is a front bumper. I also should be getting my latest package from Enjuku on thursday... 180sx Kouki "Type-X" complete tail light set!

I really want to swap an RB20/25 into it but I may change my mind and go SR depending on if I want to do a Type-X replica or not. I would like to get a full 180sx Kouki Type-X aero kit, but that could very well change into a different kit. Oh and don't worry I plan on painting the body kit before having a professional fit it to the car (unlike a lot of ricers in Columbus/Cincinnati). I also need to get my windows tinted. I wouldn't mind a paint job but that wouldn't be for at least two years. ***edit*** Still my DD :) ***edit***

I would also like to be more active on the forum and be WAY more active at events, meetups, etc. especially for Auto-X or drifting event days.

LMK if you have an S13 hood, front bumper, or RB20/25 parts

Hope you like my ride and will keep you guys updated.

Thank you! its kinda my longterm project/DD. I wish i knew someone who was able to do some bodywork/paint. Ill need the fender, headlight, and some random other parts painted too. The guy who did the rear end is taking a break from side jobs right now so i guess itll just have to wait

Looking good. bummer on the accident.

this is the only thing that makes me a little worried for this car's future

Slammed on her brakes and scared me so i slammed on mine due to reflexes.. no ABS + rain + not exactly new tires = bad day :( oh i also found out that my tool kit/socket set was jacked. So no tools right now. Not that I had a lot but you gotta start somewhere

Not a bad way to spend Ten Thousand dollars... Haha but no seriously that's be beast (I was actually researching it yesterday) and its way to expensive, plus you need custom parts, fab etc. I'm restricted to the standard Sr20 CA18 RB20 RB25 KAT. I don't want the KAT or the CA18 and I've always loved the RB.. Plus.. Have you HEARD IT!? It's like an EARGASM or... or Dubstep!

If I may make a friendly suggestion...the engine you have now runs well... I wouldn't waste any money on a better engine until you fix the exterior. Talk to Kevin Clifford on the board here; he's treated myself and many others really well and does great work for the buck. Would be great to see a future classic like yours in straight order. My $0.02.

From a guy that bought a fiberglass front bumper for his SUZUKI SAMURAI (only to wise up and return it back, eating the restocking fee) I would stay away from body kits like the plague...especially if you seriously want to get into AutoX.

So you followed to close and then locked the brakes up instead of pumping, yep she was a bad driver

Oh yea I completely understand that about taking time that is the least of my worries. I plan on having this for a few more years at least, I love this car! And that's why I like the 180sx kouki kit because it's very minimal and still oem. An I am definitely focusing on the exterior first-- those tail lights aren't cheap! I was going to get the body panels all clean, do the swap, and THEN get some coil overs and the OEM lip kit, followed by possibly some new wheels, followed by the rest of my performance upgrades. But that could change in the future who knows.

**edit** and I hope you don't think I'm just dismissing all of your opinions l because I definitely open to other's suggestions.

Not on either side of this but you dont stop in round abouts, just sayin'.

Anyway, looks like a good project car and dont get dicouraged, I think everyone here whos ever built a project can agree that you hit road blocks in the process and sometimes they take back seat to other priorities. Id be interested to see how this turns out.

Im more of a glass half full kinda guy. It'd take a lot more than this shit to discourage me; I love this car more than anything its my baby haha. Ive put over 2-3x what I paid for the car in parts, labor, etc. At least once everytime I go back to my parents house they ask if i regret buying it- only for me to answer with the same stupid giddy grin I had when the previous owner handed the keys over to me. That first drive was like a dream come true, especially compared to driving my old beat 97 maxima and my moms 98 accord.

Thanks for all the encouragement and suggestions! Keep em coming I love hearing new ideas!

**edit** Yea i know SR's are bolt in basically while RB's require a little more. It really isnt to much more and I just am inclined to the RB as of right now but I have a good amount of time before I make a decision.
