wagner
I am going to upgrade the rear swaybar on the car when the 9inch goes in. After doing some research I think I am going to skip the drag bar/anti-roll bar so the car will still have some street manners. Now, I am looking at the following: Better than stock and lighter http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetails.php?ModelID=7&CategoryID=126&PartID=24 Is adjustable, but cost more http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetails.php?PartID=481&CategoryID=126&ModelID=7 Standard upgrade http://www.umiperformance.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_114&products_id=291 If I do decide to go ballz deep and suffer driving on the street http://www.umiperformance.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_114&products_id=326 Anybody have experience with swaybars on f-body cars or general suspension theory in this case for drag racing? I know I want to tighten the car up a bit more to help the 60' and get it to launch straight.
Cordell
Sway bars either need to be matched to keep the handling balanced, or the use of a bigger adjustable sway bar to help a car launch straight. IMHO you have 3 options, leave the stocker on, buy a sway bar set, or do a bigger adjustable drag sway bar. Chad has a drag bar on his Trans Am and other then the rod ends wearing on the endlinks it's not bad to drive, it just makes the car more tail happy if you're pushing it. I have always had my stock sway bars on the car. If you just put a "performance" bar on the back you aren't going to make the car handle better or launch much better, thus defeating the purpose. Exact type of info I needed. How bad is the tail happy on the street? Based in the info above I might to the matched set. I need to maximize every advantage I can with the car based on the combo I am going with.

Now if you are going to be stepping the rear end out for fun it'll get away from you much easier. I kept my stock bars on for more then just a cost factor, I don't feel like I ever went fast enough to benefit from the bar, I'd have rather done an airbag in the right rear, and going to a handling set of sway bars doesn't help it at the drag strip IMO.
