Science Abuse
Come the apocalypse, all that will be left will be twinkies and this bumper: http://s8.postimage.org/3omzf8it1/steelbumper.jpg http://s15.postimage.org/fe92ovfsr/IMG_1743.jpg I've dragged around a trailer with a canoe and a sailboat on it pretty regularly in the 2 years it's been in service. I haven't dragged myself out of anything with it, only because I haven't become stuck. Main beam is 1/4" thick, and about 4"x2" and matches the width of the car. I've since gave it a coat of cold galvanizer and duplicolor paint to match the gold of my outback. Some surface rust on the underside, nothing a wire wheel wont remove. All welds are solid, MIGs holding the hitch receiver to the bar (and braces not seen in pic) were professionally done. It comes with some steel panels to cover the side vents behind the wheel, I never had the time to tie these into the bumper to finish the project. The bumper bolts right on to the existing studs et al, the side shields require a nut-sert, but otherwise use existing holes to mount. $100 takes it all. Pick-up only, I'm not shipping this beast. I'm in Cincinnati, but frequently visit Columbus.
