Forrest Gump 9
Dear the drag pros Are there any special prepping I can do to help my slicks/DRs stick better? I had tried three differents DRs (BFG, MT, and Hoosier) and my best 60' time is 1.69. That was on 18" BFGs. I've read/seen somewhere that you can buy some "sticky solution" and soak the tires in there to help. Just wondering if anyone uses such thing and does it work? DKilbourne
Run a larger sidewall tire on a 15 or 16 inch wheel.
Rustlestiltskin
Have you ever heat cycled them?

MrMeanGreen
OK, so let's quit looking at the tires and look at the car. Car? Suspension mods? How do you leave the line?

mrtbolt64
You can have super glue on the track but if the suspension, chassis, converter, and tune sucks ass it still wont hook. If your trying to make DR's work with a standard tranny you can forget it!
Forrest Gump 9
OK, so let's quit looking at the tires and look at the car. Car? Suspension mods? How do you leave the line? MB E55 Stock suspension, they all have air rides so I can raise up and down. Shallow stage. Roll into the gas. If I smash the throttle, smoke the tires. If I build up the rpm, smoke the tires. Other people have been able to run low 1.6s 60' or even high 1.5s 60' time on my same set up. Granted, the only track I've ever ran this car is NTR. May be I need to go to Norwalk? DKilbourne
Yup, a good consistence 60' time is my broblem. Saw a guy running ET streets on 16 inch wheels on his E55 and he was hooking nicely. What tire pressure are you running?

DKilbourne
That was probably me. 25psi working down to 20psi Try 15. Also, black car with chrome 16's? Running lower 11's?
Forrest Gump 9
Try 15. Also, black car with chrome 16's? Running lower 11's? Yup, that's me. The 16" rims that I had on were special rims and they barely cleared the brake calipers. 15" is definitely a no-go for now.

Rocky31186
When I took that picture I remember your runs, couple chirps off the line but you were hooking pretty good. So it may not be the tires. As you can see in the picture with the front end up its hooking fairly well.
