TurboRust Posted April 1, 2012 Report Share Posted April 1, 2012 Buddy's car throws a p0340 cam sensor code and stalls when hot and wont restart. has new crank and cam sensors, exciter wheel on intake cam is in prefect shape, it was reflashed by ricart in 2009 to bulletin ref#ntb06-051a. Crossle Posted April 4, 2012 Report Share Posted April 4, 2012 Where did the cam sensor come from? Don't rule out a part just because it is new. When it stalls hot, crank it over and see if the tach is moving. You are checking to see if you have a tach reference. If the tach is not moving you probably still have a bad cam sensor, OR whichever sensor tells the tach where to point. Your symptoms/codes still point at a tach reference issue. New parts or not. Guest CARkid Posted April 11, 2012 Report Share Posted April 11, 2012 If I remember correctly, I had to replace my camshaft sensor. Apparently the stock ones were pretty crappy and made of plastic.
