Are you doing a drift type car or quarter mile?

If your going for the quarter mile, why not go for the 76-80 Cressida or the mk1 supra? Yes I know the mk1 is butt ugly but it and the cressida come at around 2400 pounds. They also have the solid rear which means you can run any of the toyota truck diff/rear ends. Without even doing any fiber glass parts, my 1st gen Cressida(which is completely gutted) has got to be down to 2000-2200 pounds.

Any junkyards around that I can pull a whole car out of? My local one's been adamant in not letting me take anything but parts.

pull all the parts you need one at a time, see if they sell the stripped shell then?

lol jk, i remember seeing an 86(?) cressida on cl not too long ago, they wanted like 2500 though, twas clean though.

Drag car. I like the styling of the GS300 and you don't see enough of them as drag cars.

Erik, the first one's gone and they want too much for the second one.

  • 2 months later...

Was down @ Parsons Auto getting parts for Teh_Lex and stumbled across this gem. Only significant body damage I noticed was to the drivers side door-hinge and it was minor, rest of the body was in surprisingly good condition, zero surface rust. Took a look underneath and looked decent, a little rust but not bad. Dude said he wanted $850 for the shell. I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat if I were you.

I agree with you, 1st gen GS300 are hot done up right, but so are the MKII Supras, bad part is the MKII Supras are starting to become collectible and expensive, so act quick!

I know that I own one, and I am not being biased as I also own a GS300, but guess which car got the 2jzgte? ;)
