justinwebb
damn wish i would have seen this earlier, I have built and customized many a carpc and they are neither clunky or anything anymore....I custom make them to fit into a case a little smaller than the 6 inches by 6 inches and normally just tuck inside the dash. The screen i use a double din spot but can be smaller did a custom install years ago before anyone even tried it http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w264/justinwebb24/Carputer/DSC_0494.jpg this is a much later software that i dont use anymore but i can run anything on it that a regular pc can do but in touch screen form http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w264/justinwebb24/ROTM/IMG_0824.jpg if you are looking for ideas let me know I can think up just about anything
airwg2189
What do you use to actually send the audio signal to the speakers, though?
justinwebb
What do you use to actually send the audio signal to the speakers, though? Few ways it can be done the easiest if there is an existing head unit with an AUX in you just route the audio from the car Pc outputs to the inputs. Second way is get a amp they make for car pcs to just power the speakers that way. I have done both and each has it's downsides.

This was posted a few spots above you. They're doing trials in SE Asia and have no plans to go further with it yet. Might as well not exist. not with a headphone amp. Does the amp control the volume or the audio player? If we can come up with a workable solution I think I'm going to tackle this in the BRZ.
Ramsey
T Does the amp control the volume or the audio player? the amp has volume control, but it would work more as a gain and volume would be controlled by the player.
