wagner
I am in the process of finalizing my new rig for video and photo editing, now I need a new monitor. I will be running two and this will be my primary monitor. I would like to keep the cost at $150 or less and size of 20 inches or bigger. So, what do the computer types of CR recommend? Any brands I should shy away from? I was looking around on Newegg and went into sensory overload due to the volume of choices. I tried to narrow it down to models that had the best overall reviews, even then there were to many

Draco-REX
I don't know what the current prices are like. BUt for monitors I prefer Viewsonic and Samsung. Sony is good too but tend to cost more than equivalents from the other two.
mmrmnhrm
Just walk into Microcenter and compare. Reading reviews will make your eyes bleed, there's nothing better than just walking up to the things and seeing how they really look in terms of clarity and crispness. After that, get a decent calibration package (I've got one of the Spyders). Default color settings out of the box are usually way too loud compared to what is actually being sent by the computer. bicranium
Been looking at 23-23.6" monitors for a while to try playing my Xbox on. Have a really nice but really old Dell 24" I use for my PC now but it doesn't have HDMI. If I were buying one now I'd probably go with this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236059 Over 1,100 reviews, 5 eggs, $150 after MIR. jerrodh
I have two of these ones picked them up on sale for a bit cheaper than the current list price. The ASUS monitors are beast for the price/quality/options you get. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=100006652&isNodeId=1&Description=VW246H&x=0&y=
