Blacklick woods

Went to blacklick woods for a walk with the wife. Also stopped the old movie theater parking lot off brice / 70. For some other random shots.

I agree 2's really nice. 1 is pretty cool too, even with the spot coloring. For practice you should see how it looks in b/w with deep blacks, high contrast, and then dodge/burn the hydrant to make it really pop.

 

Then for effect, use some edge darkening and unsharping to all the corners. Not really vignetting, but sort of a manually added vignette.

Something like this? You have permission to edit my photo to show me.. As this is still a learning curve for me.. The black and white / color didnt look great to me, but didnt know what else to do..

I'd have shot it at f1.8-f2.8 with a 50mm crop assuming you were about 6' away. The bokeh on the background would have established it as the focal point. I dig the natural light though, no need for reflectors or multi-strobes on that.

 

Im shooting with a Kit lens. So no F1.8 for me.. :megusta:
