As for THE COLT- I ran into an issue-clutch. I have a 2600, but no good aftermarket discs or flywheels for a FWD. I also have a AWD PTT twin disc, but we all know that wont work in a FWD bellhosuing, right?

Out comes the grinder!

The AWD flywheel is a little more than an inch smaller than the FWD-so I figured I needed the starter to come down at least 1/2 an inch. There is no way to do this on the trans really. You cant to grind that much off the bell housing without destroying it, and I wanted whatever I did to be repeatable in-case of trans failure.

So what I dreamed up was to stud/brace the dust shield (IE/cut a bolt in half and weld it to the shield) for the lower starer bolt in a new position that will engage the AWD flywheel-and hog out the hole in the plate-retaining the top bolt for maximum stability.

The test rig with AWD flywheel and clutch-she works!!

It may be the first ever, but I am not sure anyone will be in a hurry to repeat this one. But for now- problem solved. PR fabrication FTW once again.

Wow JP. You look EXACTLY the same as you did years ago when you drove down to c-bus in the Tercel with the park bench and giant "1.3L" on the deck lid. LOL!

Indeed! Just heavier. :)

Hopefully I will look like this in another 10! Update to come here made a TON of progress last night- but I am going to a party and may be unable to work on it after .

Quite disappointed that this thrash all but killed my SO weekend

Long story short- I was full blasted at a house party- and was rescued by Grassroots Matt and crew to come Mod some time after midnight. With the help of Supra Vlad, Angry Matt, and Ben BMX- the car was ready to fire at 5am-only to find out the fuel tank I was given many moons ago had a dead pump-after that I threw in the towel. I continued to party-passed out-and woke up at 4pm dazed an confused

Big thanks to Super Modder Vlad, Matt, Serge and Ben for getting the car literally ready to fire Saturday night. We did what takes most people MONTHS, in less than a week on 10pm or later mod sessions.

I am hung over, and beat from a golf outing today-so we will replace that pump and see if she fires tomorrow. This will probably be the last SO thrash I do on this scale unless I am unemployed an have all the time in the world!~

Well I woke up from my recovery nap and felt pretty solid. Wife made later dinner, and off to the garage I went.

Installed new pump-

Fixed fuel leak (Vlad will laugh about this one)

Installed few other needed tid bits before I attempted to start it; clutch slave, throttle cable, all grounds, all ignition, battery (trunk) cables, some final ECU wiring, built an intake for MAF-

Fucking thing fired up on the first crank. A Day late and a dollar short of the goal, but it was nice to have it rump rump rumping in the garage on jack-stands on its own, I am sure pissing off the neighbors.

Still needs more wiring and buttoning up before any test drives-but rest assured if the spare parts motor holds up-the turbo will be at Max shaft speed in no time at all :)

Update of mas disappointment-

Did not make the shootout. First time I whiffed on a thrash, ever. After 2 turbo installs-I have come to the realization he turbo is toast. ZERO psi. Ridiculous. To get some miles on the motor-I tossed a 14b on it last night. Starter/clutch/and motor work well. After I have 100 or so miles on her and I am sure the motor is not going to come apart, its turbo time (again).

I was at least happy to drive the thing, all 250 HP of it. Pics of her together in a few.
