I found the one below on cl for cheap. That processor is listed to be compatible with the G41 chipset, so it should work. http://ark.intel.com/products/chipsets/36519 Although that guy is selling DDR2 ram to go with a DDR3 motherboard, so I believe the seller might be a bit of an idiot. His motherboard has 2 slots and I have (2) 2Gb sticks in my broken pc so I should be good. I just want the motherboard, but can out the video card to use also. Yea, he knocked it in half for me so I am assuming it's a good buy. Installing a motherboard is new territory for me but I feel with google at my side I can get it done. unfunnyryan Posted August 21, 2012 Report Share Posted August 21, 2012 You're going to need thermal paste for the processor/heatsink when you switch it to the new board. Remove the cards from old motherboard and leave cpu/heatsink connected. Then when its out of the case, thats when I transfer those components. LGA775 heatsinks and such usually use little rotating clips. Turn them to the right normally, then pull to release. Don't forget to turn them back to the left before you install on the new motherboard. Oh, and when installing the fan, you will probably get some bend in the motherboard from the force you have to use, so make sure to support it really well from the back. I have some paste, but it's been in my desk drawer for 2 or so years. Probably a good idea to just can it and buy a new thing of it. Does brand really matter?
