Green Bastard
So I'm out of town in Tennisee and my passenger side cv axle pops loose :fuuuu:, So I get all the tools I need and a new joint (figured the old one was tore up due to the terrible vibration noise it was making), and it turns out it was the half shaft. Where the half shaft connects to the front diff, the splines are shot (and im assuming the ones in the diff are too, I couldn't hammer the shaft back in after cleaning the splines up a little). My question is do I need to replace the entire front diff or is the splined output shaft replacable. I think i can get by for a little while (4x4 doesn't currently work anyhow) by taking the cv axle apart and using the outer portion to hold the hub together, but i still want to get it properly fixed when i get back to Ohio. Thanks in advance.
Cordell
Honestly never had one of those older s-trucks front diff apart but I'm sure you can take it apart and replace the shaft, or possibly just clean up the splines.
