Ahmadi6490
http://www.infowars.com/illinois-government-wants-gold-registration/ Wow.... Best response: “So let me get this straight,” writes Mike Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg. “First they want gun registration and now precious metal registration? I’m sure the government would only use such information in our best interests, because as we all know: Your Government Loves You. Sounds reasonable, after all, only ‘terrorists’ buy guns and gold anyway.”
ImUrOBGYN
Why in the fuck do they need to know how much gold I have?! That's rhetorical, btw.

Also, pawnbrokers were exempted from this via amendment, so if it passes, it will only apply to "WE BUY GOLD" type places. It's an attempt to cut down on gold theft, which makes it odd that it won't apply to pawn shops. Guessing they lobbied for that exception. 10phone2
it's also another attempt to tax every single penny from people and monitoring.

I buy plenty of gold and silver, which is also covered in this bill. Every purchase I make now has to be in something other than CASH - and I have to send my receipt to the Sheriff...... Sorry - no one needs to know I bought 100 Canadian Maple Leafs from my coin shop. *Edit - Link to Actual Bill - http://ilga.gov/legislation/fulltext.asp?DocName=09700SB3341&GA=97&SessionId=84&DocTypeId=SB&LegID=64562&DocNum=3341&GAID=11&Session=&print=true

kshymkiw83
You own a store in Illinois? I do not - but things like this cause ideas to spread. What does owning a store have to do with it?
jjjxlr8
They need to know where to come get it when the US goes bankrupt. They will of course exchange it for some paper notes.
