Meh, I had one in black coupe like this and absolutely hated it. It had the H22 head on it even, they call it a G series.

I have heard of them doing an H23 head on a F22 but never an H22 head. Sounds like the UK H23 Vtec anyway. Depending on what trans they used it would have been perfect for boost.

Which ones do you like and why?

I like:

B18c1 (GSR)

B18a/b and B20 (basically same motors)

D16z6 (single cam vtec)

I am not a fan of the B16's cause, well they just suck. I don't like H series a whole lot due to weak transmissions and their stock sleeves are junk. K series are just too expensive still for me to like and the s2k motors outside of boosting don't respond well to mods.

Its coming along nicely! Making good changes to it.

Thanks, she is picking and choosing the proper mods. She still hates this hood, just trying to find an OEM style carbon fiber one.

I had an F22 car, was not a turd LOL

Heck yeah, anything can be made fast I suppose. I just am not a fan of them although their heads do flow pretty damn amazingly

Update time!

Well I told her that she couldn't get the car tuned until a new wastegate was bought. What does she do? Goes and buys a Tial 38mm lol. So we scheduled her tune date for this coming Sunday. I am anxious to see what the car makes, it'll be on 10-12psi

Well we had a bit of an issue, actually a big one. Got the car up to the dyno and began tuning, everything was going great, the car was sounding the healthiest it ever has. Got all the low cam tuning done and turned it off t give it a break and to eat. Went to start the car back up and it sounded like a weak/dead battery, tried again, same thing, on the 3rd attempt it started....with a knocking coming from it. Instantly turned it off and checked the oil, which checked out fine. Turned car back on and knock was still there, grabbed a stethoscope to try and pinpoint the sounds location...bottom end :(

The guys at Pro Car Associates (where we have the cars tuned) told us to leave the car there and they would pull the motor, tear it apart and see what went wrong. Got a phone call on Tuesday telling us what the deal was, the machine shop who assembled the motor apparently put 1 rod in backwards from the other 3. That single rod just so happened to be the one that spun its bearing. So we was facing 2 choices, put a stock H22 in the car for right around $500 or dump a couple grand between machining, parts and labor to put the messed up motor together. We chose the stock motor just to get the car back up and running for now.

Today I got some pics of the replacement motor, it looked a little rough, but that was expected out of junkyard motor. Our buddy Steve then sent me a pic later today showing a motor on the stand, I thought it was the old motor...nope he took the power washer to the dirty motor and got it looking amazing haha. The car should be back up running and tuned by Sunday if all goes well. We are going to sell all the turbo stuff and build an all motor setup.

Those DOHC Honda motors are beautiful looking, love being able to see the headers coming off the front of it!
