1fast5gp
You'll have to read on how far the flash hider/ attachment drops over your barrel. AAC has measurements listed on their site. I don't know if the can comes down even further or sits flush with the qd mount. 10.3in barrel with a 9.55in rail on the MK18 will have a flush fit with the surefire, AAC, and YHM suppressors. I'm sure a 10.5in barrel and a 9in rail will fit 99% of the suppressors out there.
copperhead
why not just buy a new barrel thats the right size? And if its over 10" you should still be using a carbine gas system which is what looks like you have now. Less and you have to change to a pistol gas system which takes some serious tuning to get to run right. If you are going to the effort of paying someone to cut and thread a barrel you would probably be better off buying a good barrel with a low profile gas block already attached. Since you have to wait on your stamp anyway may as well hold out for what you want since you can't attach it for a while anyway. As for terminology, what you are doing is free floating the barrel. Having it free floated means that it doesn't have anything putting pressure on it to cause any kind of flex during firing. The style handguard used to do this is referred to as a free float handguard or a rail system. But its the barrel that is free floated. copperhead
some supressor companies won't warranty if its on a barrel that's too short so look into that

Unless you run some underpowered, subsonic ammo, you're going to erode the shit out of those baffles.

Some suppressors will fit inside of rails For example: http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww189/wjt1169/SWAT%20suppressed%20upper%20II/upper-stripped-left01.jpg

People could just get a stamp for the oil filter adapter suppressor. It works, and it cheap to replace. lol

No but like Austin said the short barrel and short gas system will crap out early and eat the baffles. I would run a 14" barrel and a can and call it a day.
