I am looking to play some of the newer PC games (mainly WOW, but leave it open for others) at the highest video level with minimal FPS loss. I want an Intel CPU. Also, I don't want to break the bank!!! What CPU? What Motherboard? It will have at least 6GB of RAM, if not more. The HDD will be at least a 7200RPM SATA. Thanks!!!! I saw an ad at Microcenter i believe that was for a 120GB SSD for $89.99. They are seriously fast as fuck and worth the smaller storage space. Sli isn't perfect but we'll go ahead and say it is achieving 100% efficiency and give it a score of 4170. That single 7870 I posted (probably not ideal choice) pulls a score of 7864. A lot of this stuff the prices can be dropped a fair bit by price matching against newegg (save $5 on power supply for example) a SSD was not mentioned but it highly recommended for OS and most used applications. I recently picked up a laptop powered by the new Trinity A10 . @ microcenter she's on sale refurb for 465 and plays WOW great on high quality 60fps no probs. Go back to your barn :gabe: Things like WoW and other light tasks AMD is fine, I've since come to prefer Intel after moving away from my 8120. Ever since Intel busted out the Core 2 series though they just skipped right to the front of the line and haven't looked back. Haven't even considered an AMD build since then.
