Been looking at them for a while now, and I'm ready to pull the trigger on one (haha, I made a pun). I know these are not cheap to shoot, nor are they the most accurate. jjjxlr8 Posted March 3, 2013 Report Share Posted March 3, 2013 I've got a few M1 carbines that I'm planning to sell. A few are more collector pieces but I might have something perfect for you. I haven't determined prices for anything, yet, but I'll see what I can do later tonight and send you some details... Also... examples with good bores, muzzles, and with actions that fit the stock and recoil plate properly are fairly accurate out to at least 250 yds. (that's the longest I've shot one!) It's made by National Postal Meter and like most USGI carbines has gone through at least one arsenal refurb. The AAW on the stock means that it was refurbished at the Augusta Arsenal in Summerville, GA. It appears to still have it's original barrel (big plus for value!) as it's made by Buffalo Arms who made the barrels for National Postal Meter. It's dated 1943 and has the Flaming Bomb logo. Wartime rifles are very cool. The stock is a Walnut high wood style made by "OI" and still has whats left of the 'crossed cannon cartouche.' Handguard is also walnut and made by Standards Product with the early style two rivet design. Other notable features are the early style flat bolt, the 3rd style barrel band with built in bayonet lug, adjustable rear sight, later style welded trigger housing. The reproductions can be nice, but I want something with a little more collectability. Let me know when your ready. I'd really like to take a look at your collection. Maybe we can do business.
