wagner
Anybody have information? It was a LMR car and the driver had to be flown out. Praying for him sounds pretty bad
Wes Stone
Facebook page had a couple things posted. Don't know how true or anything. " LIfe flight to the hospital in Corpus.. Two broke legs." "It wrecked. Don't know how the driver is but the car was going over 250 when it happened" "Any update on Joe/Kelly in the Camaro. I was driving out of the gate when it happened?" Ry_Trapp01647545522
according to a few posts on yellowbullet, joe was driving and he barrel rolled the car 8 times but made it out with only abrasions, no broken bones or anything. wagner
Wow, I am waiting for the video to hit soon. I am pretty sure they had at least 1 go pro in the car and several cameras following it doing a film about the car. http://www.lsxtv.com/news/this-used-to-be-the-worlds-fastest-camaro-before-a-220-mph-crash/
BigOxley
i'm surprised how well the passenger compartment held. doesn't even look like it touched the roll cage on top above the driver's seat.
99StockGT
Example right there for all the people who push their cars. While it may be a hassle to install safety pieces as well as go fast pieces, you won't end up as an oil stain on the road. Can't imagine what it feels like to roll something at those kinds of speeds, what's the G force and impact a body takes from something like that? wagner
Seriously, how is there no video of this out there. There is... ANNOUNCEMENT: We have had an incredible number of requests for the footage of the accident from Saturday evening when the Kelly Bise Camaro was destroyed. So that everyone knows, we DO have very up close and personal footage and the folks at TX Mile have graciously given us permission to post it. After receiving permission from Joe Honeycutt and Kelly Bise, we have decided to include it as part of the official documentary detailing the complete history of the car, from start to finish. Got-Boost?
When I was there talking with Rick/Jason, he said the officials took all the cameras and cards until they investigated the incident. Now that they have released them, they will make a full video very soon.

Got-Boost?
The new track isn't like Goliad where you could record it from most angles. The new track you can't see after 3/4-mile unless you are at the finish/shutdown spectator area, so less ability to see. The only ones that will probably have GOOD footage will be Gearheadflicks or one of those that had bad a$$ camera's on top of the RV's recording the entire track... But it's coming, they have it... 2011SVT
and 6 pt harnesses, hans, and appropriate SFI rated suit at those speeds. What a ride that must've been. Wonder what you think at a time like that? ("Sh*t, sh*t, f*ck, am I still rolling?, what feels broken?, sh*t....")
wagner
The new track isn't like Goliad where you could record it from most angles. From what is being posted on Yellowbullet it might never be released. Hard to know how much truth there is to what they are saying over there but it does not paint a postive picture for the event, organizers, or the driver.
