Rally Pat Posted March 31, 2013 Report Share Posted March 31, 2013 I had been sitting on this for a long time, waiting to find a better chassis to put it in since I was forced to get rid of my red Impreza as I had no where to keep it. However, I am trying to finish getting rid of my credit cards, so I had to re-evaluate what was really important. Anyway, you are getting a complete SVX EG33 Flat 6, along with the wiring harness. It comes with the headers, as well as the dash side of the harness which was stripped down by Jake Achymeier (SP?), who goes by just "Jake" on rs25. The only wires left are the ones that let the engine be ran, to make it easy to splice into an Impreza or Legacy dash harness. Mechanically, the swap is pretty straight forward. Move the radiator forward a bit, then use stock EJ mounts and transmission, and use an EJ flywheel and clutch. The fuel lines are in the same spot as an EJ. The harder bit is the wiring, which should theoretically be already simplified as much as possible. Jake included some wiring diagrams with the harness he sent back. Of course, you could always just purchase this is for a non running SVX or to have as a spare as well. I drove the car home that this engine came in, and pulled it myself, so I know it runs. Could definitely use a freshen up though, valve covers were leaking pretty bad. Currently the engine is sitting in the back of my storage unit, so here are some pics from when it was pulled. You will notice an MSD ignition coil, someone had replaced one of the stock coils with this setup, which was replaced with a stock one from Jake after I got the engine out. Clever fix, though.
