chrisknight
I need to get my tank fixed. Most of the damage is in the clear coat I think. I was thinking also about maybe having the whole tank painted with blue flames. I'm a bit worried about using scratch remover from the auto parts store. How would you guys fix this? Thanks,Chris
magley64
scratch remover would be my first try... after that, buff polish and re-clear...after that, repaint...
01929rr
it looks like some of the scratches went through the clear and that means you will probably want to have it sanded down put on a little color in that area and blend it out then re-clear the whole tank but to make them a little less noticalbe i would wet sand the scratches with like 1500 gritt sand paper followed by 2000 and use a power buffer with rubbing compound and then polish that should make them very fine except the ones that went through the clear. If you were in cincinnati i could do this for you or try a detail shop that will wetsand. Edited April 15, 2009 by 01929rr
4DAIVI PAI2K5
the front part of ur tank is just a cover over the tank itself, just find one off of ebay, or WERA forum. of just try to buff it out some an say screw it!
that dude
thats through the clear for sure..your best bet is to just drain the tank and take it to a painter, let them pray it, then put decals back on..your not gonna buff that out..might look a little better but your gonna waste your time and not be happy
