Forrest Gump 9
I'm looking to buy another toy/project car. The car is clean and perfect for what it is wit the exception of salvage title. How do you insure such vehicle? How do you transfer the title? Thanks in advance. I'm saving half on buying this vehicle, so more $$ for go fast stuff . lag wagon
If it is a "rebuilt salvage" title, nothing different than any other vehicle. If it is not rebuilt, you have to go through that process (transfer to in-state title if currently out-of-state + go to 'inspection' at Alum Creek BMV)
Forrest Gump 9
The car is currently registered and daily driven in Columbus, Ohio.
wnaplay1647545503
Just as described, just as normal as a clean title car if its already been inspected which it sounds like it has. Some insurance agencys will only allow for liability so best to call and check.
Forrest Gump 9
Cool, thank you. I'll check with my ins company tomorrow
BoostedAce
Make sure it's been inspected, if its currently salvage when you get it get the receipts of what they fixed on it, they will ask for those, make sure you have at least a month before you do anything with it as you will wait a month in line to get you're inspection, truly a bitch. ShoMeSomeFun
Been down this road. Like the poster above said most insurance companies will only do liability on a salvage/branded titled vehicle. Which makes since in a way not that I completely agree such as in a case of a minor fender bender but, why would you repair a vehicle that has already been totaled beyond repair once before? EssFo
That's why you get it inspected so it's not "salvaged" but "rebuilt". Allstate will fully insure a rebuilt titled car with no problems. I would think some of the other big names would do the same.
-Alex-
I've had a rebuilt car with full coverage through State Farm.
Ginger1647545553
Same full coverage is defiantly doable thats what I had on my car through Nationwide.
