V8 Beast
I'm finally about to put this thing in my car but want to make sure I do it right. Can someone point me in the direction of some good do it yourself install info? I want to make sure all the angles and everything are right. briansb
http://www.schrothracing.com/sdocs/2009_Competition_Instructions.pdf Page 13 to 18 have a decent guide, but it may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Or for FIA regulations: (right side of the page, about 3 pages down) http://argent.fia.com/web/fia-public.nsf/EA658B00B8E24395C125765600493AF7/$FILE/253%20%2809-10%29.pdf I've typically used a max of 20 degrees down, but that's a spec from Formula SAE. The FIA rules for sedans say to used 10 degrees min, to a 45 degree max. Probably already know this, but definitely DON'T just go straight down to the floor board behind the seat or rear seat belt mounts. Typically not great angles there. If you can find the rule book for the organization you'd most likely run the car at that might help as well (SCCA, IHRA, etc). Glad to see someone taking the time to do it right. Spinal compression is no fun.
