Anthony Here is a great guy. Cliff notes:

- PM'd and posted in thread. I'll take it!

- Multiple text messages I'll take it.

- Was working with him to make arrangements

- Was going to pay-pal the entire amount before I could even pick the item up.

- When asked if I could tell him tomorrow (today now) when i could pick it up and if I could just pay-pal the entire amount, he said "That works for me, Just let me know tomorrow please"

- I did just that.

- Oh sorry I'm giving it to a co-worker now.

Great guy here honestly keeps is word and everything. Class-act CR member here! :dumb:

Not... I expect people like this on Craigslist but not Columbus Racing.

I never promised you anything, you took too long to setup pickup of the washer. I sold it to my employee who desperately needed it for him and his GF. Dont get so but hurt, go find another one on CL. If you would have Paypal'd me when you said you would I wouldnt have sold them. I have to help out my fellow close friends first, sorry it didnt work out. To all of those who also were interested, sorry...cash is king.

So if I understand correctly, you asked to tell him today whether or not you'd send payment, but before that happened he had sold it. Is that correct?

When I said something to the effect of "first with cash gets the item" in Mr. Tilley's thread, V8 Brian informed me that it is not like that in the tight knit group of Columbus Racing.

I am so confused about doing business on this forum.

I think that all initial communication should be done through the thread.

ie if you want to just PM the seller, to put "PM sent"

Keep everything out in the open.

I also think that selling something outside of CR is fair game. I refuse to take any deposits on anything or even payment in full before the actual transaction.

I do realize I told him I would sell it to him. But, an important person to me came forward this morning needing it, so of course I sold it to him. Im sure if anyone on here had a similar situation happen to them, they would do the same. Sorry again it didn't work out.

Thanks Anthony for deleting the negative feedback, it was un-necessary.

If I were in Jerrods situation I would feel upset. When you buy from people it's a crazy game. You don't ever want to pay before you see something, and you have to work out a time to meet. As a seller if you have a guaranteed sale and a possible, you go with the one that's there with cash in hand. The sellers job at that point is only to tell you it's already been sold so you are not left hanging. Can't really do much else about it.

I agree with Anthony and Brian on both of their posts. I can see how upset one can be after they "feel" as though they are going to receive an item and then it is sold underneath them. I can also see that selling to a close friend/family trumps anybody on CR or in the world for that matter.

Anthony did the right thing. Although it sucks for Jerrod he's just gonna have to realize that friends come first. Dry your tears and move on.

CASH IS KING!

I understand the Op's frustration, but far too often people want this or that, yet fail to pay. If you wanted it that bad, make a small deposit or something until you can arrange to meet in person. Otherwise, it may just get sold to someone else with cash in hand.
