zeitgeist57
Wifey went to FL and took our 'puter/iPads. I need to get something to: - Access Windows-based software like Word, Excel, Quicken - Intarwebs access. Fast download speeds, please! - Wordpress website editing. That's pretty much it. This will be a secondary laptop for our famiry, as my wife is waiting for the new MacBook Air Pro Net Dim Sum ShammaLammaDingDong. New/Used is fine, of course as long as the used laptop is reliable and functions without issue. No gaming, no need for a lot of hard-drive space as we're looking to set up a home media center once our house is finished. Thanks, CR! Edited July 16, 2013 by zeitgeist57 Oh yes...the cheaper the better! :)
Richard Cranium
There is a woot-off going on right now. You might find a decent deal on something. Normally I go down to Microcenter and see what they have for refurbished laptops. Last time I was there they had several options that were pretty inexpensive. zeitgeist57
I don't "woot", Rick. J/K...I'm at work and don't have access to the site. Thanks for the MicroCenter suggestion. May check out the one on Bethel by my house...

Turbs3000
Microcenter has some deeply discounted stuff currently. I'm also a big fan get picking up refurbs and open box stuff there.
zeitgeist57
Thanks for the suggestions! Techie guys, any thoughts on this Lenovo T400? Gergles found it on MC's site: http://www.microcenter.com/product/414199/ThinkPad_T400_141_Laptop_Computer_Refurbished_-_Black
ForeverMaker
Get something with an i3 at least. I have a better laptop than that I would sell you for that price.
jeffro
I have that same thinkpad and its been awesome. Hinges are still sturdy, keys still feel nice and stuff, everything works on it. Would recommend. Not for that price though.

jeffro
What's wrong with $234? 2.2ghz core 2 duo, 3 gb ram, 160 gb hard drive. Were reaching a point in time where that stuff is barely able to keep up. As ryan mentioned, try to find something with at least an i3 cpu with 4 gigs of ram.
