Diamonds
Didn't know this was a CMMG. I guess at one point they were drilling the gas ports oversized. If that's the case they'll probably put a new barrel on there. http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=121&t=578552 to anyone who has an opinion. how would overgassing affect accuracy? Diamonds
UPDATE I sent the Millett LRS back for a full refund. BUT, turns out it was an imperfection on the crown of the gun After CMMG asked for it back. they fixed it and sent it back to me. Apparently the Millett wasn't the problem. BUT, with this new chance to do it right I am considering buying a new optic that is not a Millett as my budget has increased. Here is what I am looking for in a scope: 1. a round about "size" of 6-24x50 2. MOA Turrets 3. Mildot reticle 4. priced 600-900 5. exposed numeric turrets Here are the scopes I have come up with after research: 1. Vortex Viper PST FFP MOA - 860.00 shipped 2. Millett LRS 6-25x56 - 480.00 shipped 3. Trijicon Accupoint TR23-2 5-20x50 - 890.00 shipped 4. Bushnell elite Tac (not MOA though...) - 880.00 shipped 5. Zeiss Conquest HD5 5-25x50 - 900.00 Are there any other optics I should be considering at that price point and "size" demand? I AM 100% willing to buy a used scope!! stangsn95gt
Nikon M308 should fit the bill and will be cheaper than most of those optics it's only a 4-16 power and has the BDC and not mildot though. I've been pretty pleased with the Nikon spot on program with the couple nikons i have as well.
Diamonds
I thought about that but I would love to be at least 20x zoom.
Diamonds
Update, got the Vortex VIPER PST 6-24x50 FFP MOA/MOA and took it to the range yesterday. Had a little trouble with the PPU 145grain only grouping at 2inches. Then switched to Federal OTM 168G and had good results (3 touching at 100y when sighting in). I will say this about the vortex Viper PST. At the same range in the same weather I have shot a gun with a brand new Nightforce 5.5-22x50 NXS and my vortex is noticeably "clearer" at 400 yards at any magnification. In fact, the Nightforce barely edged out a Millett LRS in terms of haziness/clarity. Just stating my opinion....
