mrs.cos Posted October 3, 2013 Report Share Posted October 3, 2013 I have a project I'd like done, but I, myself, have been grounded from new projects till I finish old projects. I have had this table since I moved out of my dads. It was one of my aunts, and it's probably from the 70s. It's been well worn and needs some serious love. I have looked for replacements but none fit what this one has been perfect as is. This is our everyday table- spilled drinks, crafts, dinner.. Its been abused. LJ Posted October 3, 2013 Report Share Posted October 3, 2013 Man that would be such an easy project. Some stripper, then a good sanding. I'd do an oil based dye, then about 8-10 coats of Tung Oil. The best thing about Tung Oil is it allows you to spot refinish. I don't really have the time though. Maybe take it to the local HS woodshop and ask if they want a practice refinishing project. Im hoping to keep it local, as im hoping this will be a project that could be done in a week or less.. (if thats possible) (doesnt hurt to throw thier info in here though!)
