"UPDATE FROM ODJFS: Xerox’s cash and food assistance card payment systems went down Saturday morning. They have restored the cash system but the EBT card system remains down at this time. ODJFS has reported Xerox is currently working on restoring the EBT system. All states that use the Xerox system are affected by the outage. Xerox is notifying retailers to go to the manual system in the meantime. SNAP recipients should call the 800 number of their back of the card and Xerox will guide them through the purchase process. Customers can spend up to 50 dollars until the system is back online."

Soo.. While it sounds like the process might be a little longer then norm, its not like they can't buy food period. At least it wasn't the 1st-10th...

While there are a lot of people who abuse the system and have multiple cell phones, pay for alcohol and dvds with cash after buying groceries..

I feel bad for the ones who actually need this food to survive.

+1

There are people that legitimately need help and I have no issues with welfare systems in regards to helping them out.

One good weeding out method, drug testing.

Oklahoma. 4.4% tested positive.

Utah. 12/4730 tested positive.

Florida. 2% tested positive.

Yes, it's good to stop even just 1 person from abusing it, but it costs more money to do the drug testing.

Don't have a source but it sounds legit.

It's not so much the people that tested positive as it is the people who didn't even take the test because they already knew they would be turned down.

4 heaping cart full of groceries, one line, typical Walmart late night shoppers (if you catch my drift) and all I've got is tp and one bottle of laundry soap, and them not Havering the decency to let me go first. I'm not saying I need to go in front but isn't it just the right thing to do? I let purple untying of me all the time. And who the fuck had that much room to store food.

Ya but how many didn't bother going for benefits when they KNEW they wouldn't pass?..lol.

How many applied during the same period BEFORE the testing? ;)
