jeffro
Drove down to cincy last weekend and noticed a slight shake above 75mph. The shake would come and go. Appeared to be coming from the right front. slight clicking/clunking sound when rolling slowly. steering wheel does not shake when i applying the brakes so i believe that rules out a warped rotor. Thinking it could be a front axle shaft/CV joint going bad. Any thoughts before i purchase and replace?
RyM3rC
Clicking sounds like a bad CV, should do it when turning too. I'd get the wheel/tire out of the equation then move inward. You could also check the axleshaft for straightness
Cordell
You can always rotate the wheels to make sure it doesn't move. What kind of shape is the CV axle in, boot ripped, loosing grease? Sounds like an axle is a good possibility.
jeffro
UPDATE: Inspected the wheels today when i got home from work. The drivers side front wheel is missing the weights, so i suppose that is likely the cause of the issue. I just had them mounted/balanced at NTB a few months ago so i should be able to get a free balance from them. Im guessing the clicking sound is a ball joint or tie rod end. Next warmish day ill put the car up on ramps and get a look at everything.
